JAF, security forces foil drug-smuggling attempt on northern border

AMMAN — The Northern Military Zone, in coordination with specialised security apparatuses, on Wednesday foiled a drug smuggling attempt from Syria into the Kingdom.
A source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said that the situation was dealt with after receiving intelligence information about the attempt, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The seized items were transferred to relevant authorities, the JAF source said. The zone personnel will deal “firmly” with any attempt of smuggling or infiltration to safeguard the Kingdom's borders, Petra reported.
