January-May trade exchange between Jordan, Egypt reached JD252m

AMMAN — The trade exchange between Jordan and Egypt during the January-May period of 2023 reached approximately JD252 million, foreign trade data issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS) revealed on Sunday. The data indicated that the national exports to Egypt in the first five months of 2023 dropped to around JD45 million, compared with about JD66 million for the same period last year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The Kingdom experienced a decline in imports value from Egypt, reaching around JD207 million by the end of May, compared with JD236 million in the previous year. The data showed that the trade balance deficit between Jordan and Egypt stood at JD162 million until the end of May this year, compared with JD170 million during the first five months of 2022.
