JD48m loan plan approved for agricultural investment

AMMAN — Headed by Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat, the board of directors at the Agricultural Credit Corporation (ACC) on Sunday approved a loan plan for 2022 worth JD48 million to cover agricultural investment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The 2022 plan witnessed a budget increase of JD3 million compared with the 2021 plan, which amounted to JD45 million. The board also agreed to continue granting interest-free loans to support a number of plant productions and the purchase of fodder for livestock breeders.

The board also decided to approve the inclusion of a number of agricultural activities due to their importance within this package, the most important of which are: Financing of organic cultivation, cultivation of fruit trees using cocoon technology, and agricultural innovation incubator projects to aid entrepreneurs, who contract with the National Agricultural Research Centre, to help materialise their ideas in partnership with the private sector.
