AMMAN — Jerash Mayor Ahmad Otoum said on Wednesday that all events at the 2024 Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts will be free of charge, and attendees have the option to purchase a ticket for a nominal amount, which will be donated to support Gaza.
Otoum explained that tickets priced at 1JD each, can be purchased optionally through the festival's website, which will go to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation that regularly sends aid to Gaza, the government-owned Al Mamlaka TV, reported.
Entry to the North Theater will also be free or with the purchase of a 2JD ticket through the website, in support of Gaza.
There will be no celebrations at the South Theater this year, according to Otoum.
He added that the municipality has completed all preparations for the festival.
The festival will feature participation from residents and booths for women to display Jerash products.
There will also be a cultural programme reflecting the heritage identity of the province's residents.
According to Otoum, this year's festival carries a message of supporting Gaza and celebrates Jordan's achievements over the past 25 years through various activities and display screens within the festival.
