AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) dispatched a nine-truck aid convoy to Gaza on Sunday in cooperation with UNRWA.
The trucks are carrying flour to the besieged strip in response to an UNRWA appeal over the severe shortage of flour, according to JHCO Spokesperson Mohammad Kilani.
On Saturday, the organisation also dispatched eight trucks laden with aid to the strip donated by charitable societies and a number of private companies, professional associations and the International Transport Workers’ Federation.
The Jordan Pharmacists Association (JPhA) said on Sunday it has donated 60 tonnes of flour for the Gaza Strip.
JPhA President Ahmad Issa said the association presented the donation to the JHCO on Thursday and it was delivered to the strip on the same day.
Donations made by professional associations for Gaza since the Israeli aggression started last month have exceeded JD1 million.
