AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) and the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) has dispatched a new humanitarian aid convoy for the people in Gaza.
The 50-truck convoy was organised in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), and supported by the Jordanian Constructions Contractors Association, Bios and Anera, the Bulgarian embassy, Rawabi Farah and other donors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.
The trucks carried essential food parcels, flour, and relief materials such as mattresses, blankets, hygiene kits, and blood units, to be distributed to people in Gaza through partner associations, organisations, and operational hospitals in the besieged strip.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said that a refrigerated truck and blood units were sent to hospitals to ensure the continuity of medical services due to the severe shortage of blood units.
Shibli added that Jordanian efforts are ongoing to overcome all obstacles to deliver aid to the people in northern Gaza, and Gaza in general.
He noted that the total number of land trucks that have entered Gaza to date has reached 2,373 trucks and 53 planes through El Arish.
The JHCO continues to receive cash donations through its bank account at Bank Al Etihad, account numberJO32 UBSI 1030 0000 4010 16599151 06 or through e-wallets or CliQ at JHCOGAZA as well as via "eFAWATEERcom" and through their website www.jhco.org.jo.
