Joint CPF-Naua-UNICEF online youth engagement platform ‘Nahno’ goes live

AMMAN — The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) initiative Naua and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Tuesday announced the launch of their new, online youth engagement and volunteering platform “Nahno”.

The launch of the National Youth Engagement and Volunteering Movement (Nahno) website coincided with International Volunteer Day, as it is intended to help connect young women and men looking for volunteering and engagement opportunities with companies and organisations in Jordan, a joint statement said.

CEO of the Crown Prince Foundation Tamam Mango said, “The essence of CPF’s mission is to create future leaders. Giving and volunteerism are considered an essential component across all our initiatives.”

Nahno “will facilitate coordination within the volunteerism value chain in Jordan under the larger giving umbrella of CPF, that is Naua”, Mango explained.

It is designed to support volunteering and spread the culture of civic engagement to highlight the overwhelming positive impact of our youth, Mango added.

In addition to work experience and skills, Nahno’s partners can offer volunteers various incentives that match the interest and development needs of the youth.

Depending on the partner, and the performance of the volunteer, these could range from work references, mobile phone credit, shopping vouchers and discounts to more focused employability opportunities such as e-courses, mentorship, technical trainings and possible job placements, the CPF explained.

Ahmad Zu’bi, CEO of Naua, said that going live with Nahno was the first step in turning the memo of understanding signed between CPF, Naua and UNICEF into a reality and thus fulfilling HRH Crown Prince Hussein’s vision to empower and advance youth in Jordan.

“We are very excited for our partnership with UNICEF and various stakeholders in the Kingdom to promote a culture of impactful giving through volunteering,” Zu’bi added.

Nahno offers “young women and men in the Kingdom with volunteering and engagement opportunities that will help strengthen their skills and experience to meaningfully engage and propel Jordan forward”, said UNICEF Jordan Representative Robert Jenkins.

“I must also thank the Ministry of Youth for leading Nahno, and all partners and donors for their commitment towards empowering young people in the country.”

Funded by the governments of Japan, The Netherlands and the United States, and developed using Naua’s proprietary impact engine, the Nahno initiative was built around the guidance of the National Human Resources Development Strategy, Jordan’s Vision 2025 and global Sustainable Development Goals.

The youth movement that spearheaded the Nahno effort, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and INJAZ, aims at creating a generation of engaged and empowered youth in Jordan, through equitable access to opportunities to learn and acquire employability, technical, personal empowerment and citizenship skills by actively engaging in the social and private sector.

According to Naua, the platform allows government, civil society, UN and private sector companies to register to post volunteering and engagement opportunities online for interested youth to apply. Applicants can register details, skills and interest, based on which they can find opportunities matching their interests, the statement explained.
