Jordan, Bahrain business associations discuss cooperation

AMMAN — The Jordan Businessmen Association (JBA) and the Bahrain Businessmen's Association (BBA) held a discussion session on the sidelines of the fifth joint Jordanian-Bahraini Higher Committee with the aim of developing economic relations, increasing investments and trade volume between the two countries.
According to a JBA statement on Saturday, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, JBA member Ayman Alawneh and BBA President Ahmad Bin Hindi discussed several proposed investment projects to develop commercial and investment relations between the two sides, mainly in the food, petrochemicals, ICT, clothing, textiles, education, training and medical tourism sectors.
The two sides discussed obstacles facing the flow of products and goods to and from both sides, including the technical specifications of goods, the high costs of shipping, difficulty in obtaining entry visas for cargo truck drivers and multiple customs clearance procedures at land borders.
