AMMAN — Labour Minister Nidal Bataineh and Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan Sharif Kamel on Sunday discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations related to labour and the workforce, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, Bataineh stressed that communication channels will remain open to mitigate obstacles that face Egyptian workers in the Kingdom, in accordance with the relevant laws.
The minister stated that unemployment rates and the number of migrant workers are increasing, which affects the government’s employment plans, adding that procedures must be taken to progressively hand over the sector to Jordanians.
Kamel said he will work on raising awareness among Egyptian migrant workers of the need to rectify their statuses.
