Jordan Gaming Lab to host Global Mobile Games Industry Conference in November

AMMAN — The Jordan Gaming Lab, a King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) project, will host the Global Mobile Games Industry Conference, scheduled to be held next November, in cooperation with the Jordan Gaming Task Force (JGTF).
The event is part of the activities of the 11th Jordan Gaming Summit for 2022, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The conference is an opportunity for Jordanian youth and game developers to have a first-hand look at the latest advancements in this field, as well as to enhance the Kingdom's role as a regional hub for this sector, KAFD Director Saeb Al Hasan said on Wednesday.
The event will host global companies specialised in developing mobile video games and a number of speakers to talk about the latest developments in game development, as well as the mechanisms to promote games and generate revenue.
Honouring the winners of the 12th edition of the App Challenge, a competition for school students between the ages of 14 and 16 has also been put on the conference agenda, which also includes a global competition for the best independent developers.
This year's conference, which is expected to bring some 500 participants, focuses on e-sports and how video games have become one of the global sports, Petra reported.
Established in 2011, the Jordan Gaming Lab supports the digital gaming industry in Jordan to increase awareness about the importance of the industry among the young generation, it also aims to assist youngsters in developing their ideas, teach them the basics of designing and how to produce digital games, in addition to connecting young Jordanians who are interested in this field with the leading international companies, according to the KAFD website.
