Jordan grand mufti meets with Bulgarian ambassador

AMMAN — Sheikh Abdul Karim Khasawneh, the grand mufti of Jordan, and Bulgarian Ambassador to Jordan Dimitar Mihaylov on Tuesday discussed various means for enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in relation to religious edicts and the dissemination of moderate thinking, through strengthening cooperation with the Bulgaria–based Islamic studies and Research Institute.
Khasawneh acquainted the envoy with the Kingdom's experience in developing the Ifta Department, highlighting the leadership's support for the official religious institution, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Commending the Ifta Department's efforts, Mihaylov said that the Jordan Ifta Department has contributed to spreading moderate thinking globally, expressing respect for the Kingdom's experience in this arena.
At the end of the meeting, the department presented Mihaylov with a set of religious books to enhance cooperation with the Bulgarian Islamic studies and Research Institute.
