Jordan-Iraq trade exchange reached JD707m — DoS

AMMAN — The total volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Iraq reached JD707 million between January and November 2022, against JD415 million during the same period of 2021, the Department of Statistics (DoS) announced on Wednesday.
According to DoS figures reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the Jordan-Iraq trade balance achieved a surplus of JD423 million.
Jordan's exports to Iraq during the reporting period reached JD565 million, compared with JD369 million during the same period in 2021.
The Kingdom's imports from Iraq also increased from JD46 million to some JD142 million during the same period.
Jordanian exports to Iraq include fruits and vegetables, cheese, eggs, milk, palm and other oils, live chickens and boneless meat, animal or vegetable fats and oils, salt, cigarettes, feed concentrates, mineral and aerated water, juices and medications.
Dyes, paints, perfumes, skin care products, pipes, tubes, sheet metal, bottles, glass, wood, textiles, cotton and fabrics and electrical appliances are also among the Jordanian exports to the Iraqi market.
The Kingdom's imports from Iraq include petroleum products, minerals, natural gas and diesel, potassium sulfate, mineral and chemical fertilisers, aluminium, dried dates, chickpeas, wheat, barley, sorghum, Jameed, fruit trees, straw and grain stalks, scrap, and furniture, Petra added.
