Jordan Olympic Committee extends sports stoppage

AMMAN — The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) Executive Office has announced that it will extend the stoppage for sport for another week to support the government’s fight against the spread of COVID-19, according to the Jordan Olympic Committee News Service.
All sporting activities will cease until Sunday, September 6. The decision was made during Sunday’s e-meeting of the Executive Board due to the increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom, and to make sure that sport is a completely safe environment for all involved.
The JOC is cooperating with the Ministry of Health to introduce a raft of new safety procedures to enable sport to restart in as safe an environment as possible.
