Jordan, Palestine energy commissions talk cooperation

AMMAN — Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) Hussein Laboun and Chairman of the Palestinian Electricity Regulatory Council Hamdi Tahboub on Saturday discussed cooperation in regulating the electricity sector.
During the meeting, in the presence of stakeholders from both sides, they reviewed prospects of exchanging expertise in the field of monitoring licensees and workers in the electricity sector and developing legislation to strengthen Jordanian-Palestinian cooperation.
The meeting comes within the framework of continuous cooperation and keenness to consolidate the partnership between the two sides. Laboun affirmed EMRC’s keenness to continue cooperation with Arab and international regulatory bodies to exchange experiences and develop the skills of cadres working in the sector. In turn, Tahboub expressed appreciation for the efforts exerted by the EMRC, lauding its performance and global achievements, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
