Jordan, Palestine officials discuss fight against corruption

AMMAN — Chairman of the Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) Muhannad Hijazi on Thursday met with his Palestinian counterpart Ahmad Barrak and discussed ways to bolster cooperation in combating corruption.
Hijazi highlighted the deep-rooted Jordanian-Palestinian ties, expressing the JIACC’s readiness to share its expertise in raising anti-corruption awareness and combating social evil, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Barrak said that Jordan and Palestine share similar challenges in the field, calling for activating a previously signed protocol. For his part, JIACC Secretary General Asem Tarawneh noted that the commission would soon launch a mobile app to keep in contact with people around the clock.
