Jordan, Palestine sign MoU on public works cooperation

AMMAN — Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahia Kasabi on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with his Palestinian counterpart Mufid Hasayneh in the fields of roads, housing and tenders, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The two sides agreed to exchange experiences, information and research in the field of designs, construction, maintenance of roads, bridges and buildings, legislation on tenders and contracts, public and private conditions, exchange of consultations and legislations governing contractors’ classification, as well as rehabilitation of engineering and consulting companies in order to participate in the projects of roads, bridges and buildings in both countries.
The two sides also stressed the importance of encouraging investment in construction in countries, and standardising the terminology of roads’ classification in terms of their specifications, design, implementation and maintenance.
