Jordan signs deal to construct 23 schools with KfW, EU

AMMAN — The Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the German Development Bank (KfW) on Saturday signed a 60-million euro agreement to finance the construction of 23 schools across the Kingdom.

Minister of Public Works and Housing Falah Omoush, who signed the agreement, said that 13 schools will be funded by the KfW, while the European Union will finance the 10 remaining schools, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

Omoush expressed his thanks to the KfW for the grant aiming at supporting and developing the Kingdom's education sector.

KfW Deputy Director Sawsan Aruri said that the partnership with Jordan is a "constructive and ideal" one, valuing the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and Education Ministry to develop the educational environment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
