Jordan voices support for Libya’s anti-terror fight

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received Libyan army chief Gen. Khalifa Haftar and discussed the latest developments in the region, especially conditions in Libya and ways to deal with them.
The meeting, held at al Husseiniyeh Palace, also addressed anti-terrorism efforts, according to a Royal Court statement.
King Abdullah stressed Jordan's continuous keenness to stand with Libya in its endeavours to restore security and stability, and to fight terrorist groups targeting the unity of Libyans and the security of their country.
The King and Haftar also discussed bilateral cooperation, especially in military field, the statement added.
Senior officials and a delegation accompanying Haftar attended the meeting.
Also on Monday, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben met with Haftar and discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination, and expand relations between the two armies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
HRH Prince Feisal and other senior military officers attended the meeting.
