Jordanian-Emirati ties behind success in relief efforts — diplomat

AMMAN — The “brotherly relations” between Jordan and the United Arab Emirates have contributed to the success of Emirati charity teams in the Kingdom, UAE Ambassador to Jordan Abdullah Al Ameri said Friday.
At a reception held in his residence in Amman, Ameri said humanitarian and charity dimensions are at the top of the UAE’s foreign policy.
Edward Kallon, the UN resident and humanitarian coordinator in Jordan, said Jordanian, Emirati and international organisations have contributed to alleviating the suffering of Syrian refugees.
Kallon also called for supporting Jordan to enable it to shoulder its responsibilities in hosting refugees.
