Jordan’s exports to GAFTA countries decline in first-third of 2020 — DoS

AMMAN — National exports to countries of the Greater Arab Free Trade Agreement (GAFTA) in the first-third of the year dropped by 8.3 per cent to JD561 million, compared with JD612 million in the same period of 2019, the Department of Statistics (DoS) announced on Monday.
The monthly DoS report, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, showed that imports from GAFTA countries in the first-third of 2020 fell by 27.1 per cent to JD1.054 billion from JD1.346 billion in the January-April period of last year.
The trade deficit with GAFTA countries declined in the first four months of 2020 by 8.1 per cent to JD560 million from JD610 million in the same period of last year.
