Jordan’s streets pulsate with unwavering fervour for Palestinian cause

AMMAN — Jordanians are coming together to express their solidarity with the "Al Aqsa Floods" operation conducted by Palestinian resistance groups in the Gaza Strip on Israeli settlements and occupation forces. 

The demonstration was marked by the distribution of sweets, people wearing the traditional Palestinian outfits as well as a public gathering in solidarity with Palestinians near the Israeli embassy in Amman and other governorates. 

Many Jordanians nationwide distributed knafeh, a traditional Middle Eastern dessert, to residents and pedestrians in the streets. 

On Saturday, hundreds of Jordanians gathered near the Israeli embassy in Amman in a display of unity and support for the Palestinian resistance. 

Social media platforms were also ablaze with messages of support and celebration from users across the country. 

Hashtags related to the "Al Aqsa Floods" operation was the top trending hashtag in Jordan, with users sharing images, videos and messages of solidarity with the Palestinian cause. 

Ahmad Hyasat, who participated in the demonstrations, said: “The power of unity and solidarity is evident today, seeing all Jordanians from every corner of the country come together in support of the Palestinian resistance is inspiring.” 

"The Palestinian resistance's success in the ‘Al Aqsa Floods’ operation is not just their victory; it's a victory for all of us who support Palestine,” Hyasat added. 

“Today, we share their joy, and we send a clear message of solidarity to our Palestinian brothers and sisters. The world needs to understand that the Palestinian cause is alive in our hearts, and we won't stop advocating for their rights,” Hyasat told The Jordan Times. 

Ahmad Sarairah from Karak shared videos of hundreds of Jordanians gathered singing, dancing and chanting for Palestine. 

Kaldoun Abu Zaher, another social media user, said that “we are witnessing the first real national celebration”. 

Mohammad Al Shaer, another social media user, posted that “Jordanians are the first defence force for Palestinians”. 

Students from the university of Jordan distributed sweets on the university’s premises in celebration of the “victory of Gaza”.
