Jordan's trade balance deficit with EU in H1 2022 stands at JD1.206b

AMMAN — The Kingdom's trade balance deficit with the EU in the first half of 2022 amounted to JD1.206 billion, compared with JD1.226 billion in the corresponding period of last year, the Department of Statistics (DoS) said on Sunday. 

The DoS data on foreign trade showed that the value of national exports to the EU increased in the January-June period by 103.2 per cent, reaching a value of JD174 million, compared with the same period of last year which amounted to JD86 million, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

On the other hand, the value of imports from EU countries in the first six months of 2022 rose by 5.2 per cent to JD1.380 billion, up from JD1.312 billion in the January-June period of 2021. 

The DoS data showed that Romania was the top recipient of Jordanian exports to the EU, while Germany was the top EU exporter to the Kingdom.
