JPMC, Indian company sign agreement to establish aluminium fluoride factory in Maan

AMMAN — The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) and Alufluoride Limited of India signed a $30 million agreement to establish an aluminium fluoride factory in Shidiyeh in Maan.

Under the agreement, the JPMC will provide the new factory with 20,000 tonnes of fluosilicic acid annually, which is considered among the side products of manufacturing phosphoric acid, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.  

During the signing ceremony, JPMC Chairman Muhammad Thneibat highlighted the importance of the deal to enhance the company’s efforts to resort to transformative industries and diversify the sources of their incomes and productions. 

In the presence of India's Ambassador to Jordan Anwar Haleem, Thneibat added that the new factory will provide around 100 jobs to residents of the area, which enhances the company’s role in addressing national unemployment. 

He also voiced the JPMC’s keenness to diversify its investment partnerships and increase production and economic capabilities to enhance its international status. 

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alufluoride Limited of India Venkat Narayanan stressed that the new factory will serve as an addition to the cooperative ties between the sides, expressing India’s pride in its partnership with the JPMC in various fields. 

JPMC CEO Abdulwahab Ruwwad said that the new factory will take into consideration all international environmental conditions. 

He noted that aluminium fluoride is "a unique industry" and the company’s production for this item will put the Kingdom on the list of countries producing and exporting the item, adding that this item is gaining more importance and global demand.
