Katamine highlights importance of museums

AMMAN — Tourism Minister Nidal Katamine on Monday highlighted the importance of museums and the need to promote them locally and internationally.
He said museum visitors during the first nine months of 2014 increased despite regional conditions.
Visitors to the Folklore Life Museum at the University of Jordan rose by 67.9 per cent, to 148,150 visitors compared with 88,215 during the same period of 2013, he noted.
Around 145,350 people visited the Jordan Archaeological Museum during this year’s January-September period, compared with 120,600 last year, Katamine added.
