AMMAN — Kazakh Ambassador in Amman Azamat Berdibay on Sunday said Jordanian companies can play a role in mega-projects to be implemented in his country over the next three years.
At an event marking the Day of the First President, which Kazakhstan celebrates on December 1, the newly appointed ambassador said several projects worth billions of US dollars in the roads, infrastructure, energy and industry sectors will be implemented between 2015 and 2017.
Berdibay urged local firms to take part in these projects.
“Jordanian companies have the experience and they are invited to take part in bids for projects to be implemented in Kazakhstan,” he added.
The envoy said Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev recently delivered an address in which he highlighted several upcoming projects and plans to boost the country’s economy and develop infrastructure in different fields.
He added that these include ventures to develop transport, logistics, industrial and energy infrastructure as well as other projects to upgrade housing and utility networks.
Berdibay underscored that Jordan and Kazakhstan enjoy a strategic relationship.
“There is room for more cooperation between the two countries, especially in economic and commercial fields,” he said.
“We need to work on reducing the cost of transport between the two countries, which will significantly help increase bilateral trade exchange,” the ambassador noted.
Turning to the Palestinian issue, Berdibay said Kazakhstan will continue to support the Palestinians and their right to establish a state.
