King Abdullah II Special Forces Group holds counterterrorism drill

AMMAN — Chief of the Pakistan Armed Forces, Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and the Brig. Gen. Nasser Athamneh, chief of staff for strategic planning and defence resources of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, attended a counterterrorism drill carried out by the King Abdullah II Special Forces Group at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre.

The drill consisted of two break-in teams and a team of snipers supported by Black Hawk and Little Bird aircraft, as well as a reconnaissance aircraft.

Participants were briefed by the commander of the drill unit and practised combat operations in built-up areas, in securing hostages and buildings, and in evacuating the injured by helicopters.

At the end of the drill, Bajwa praised the distinguished and professional level of the Jordanian Special Forces in the planning and execution of break-ins, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
