King exchanges views with Saudi king on ties, regional issues

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah and Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz held a summit meeting in Riyadh on Sunday to exchange views on means to strengthen Jordanian-Saudi ties and addressed the latest regional developments.
According to a Royal Court statement, the meeting comes in line with continued coordination and consultations between the two countries to serve the common interests of their peoples.
At the summit, held during a several-hour visit to Saudi Arabia by King Abdullah who returned home late Sunday, the two leaders stressed the need to boost Jordanian-Saudi cooperation in a manner that would serve joint Arab action, and Arab and Islamic causes, the statement said.
Addressing overall regional developments, especially anti-terrorism efforts, the two leaders asserted their commitment to support all endeavours that aim to combat terrorism, the statement added.
During the talks, the King expressed his appreciation of Saudi Arabia’s support for Jordan, according to the statement.
The talks were attended on the Jordanian side by Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, King's Office Director Jafar Hassan, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben, General Intelligence Department Director General Gen. Faisal Shobaki and Jordan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jamal Shamayleh.
From the Saudi side, the talks were attended by Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Saudi crown prince, first deputy prime minister and minister of defence; Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal; Prince Muqrin Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi deputy crown prince, second deputy prime minister and special envoy to the king; Prince Khalid Bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz, chief of Saudi general intelligence; National Guard Minister Prince Miteb Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz; Interior Minister Prince Mohammed Bin Nayef Bin Abdulaziz; Prince Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, governor of Riyadh Region; Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, minister of state, member of the Cabinet, chief of the crown prince’s court and special adviser to the crown prince; Musaed Bin Mohammed Al Aiban, minister of state and member of the Saudi Cabinet; and Finance Minister Ibrahim Al Assaf.
