King to visit Brussels and Strasbourg

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah will on Sunday start a European tour that will take him to Brussels and Strasbourg.
In the EU capital, he will meet senior Belgian and NATO officials, a Royal Court statement said.
The King will meet Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel to discuss bilateral relations and means to enhance them in various fields, in addition to regional and international developments.
His Majesty will also meet Jens Stoltenberg, NATO’s secretary general, to discuss Jordan’s ties and fields of cooperation with the organisation.
King Abdullah will then visit Strasbourg, where he will address the European Parliament on March 10, focusing on key issues and challenges facing the region.
At the parliament’s headquarters, His Majesty is scheduled to meet with several officials, including the legislature’s president, Martin Schulz.
The King will also meet in the French city with President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini to discuss bilateral ties and ways of cooperation, in addition to developments in the Middle East.
