AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday expressed his condolences for the death of innocent civilians in a New Year's Eve terror attack in Istanbul during a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to a Royal Court statement.
During the conversation, King Abdullah condemned the attack for which the Daesh terror group claimed responsibility. He described it as “a cowardly act”, and stressed Jordan’s support for Turkey as it rises to fight terrorist groups, “which pose a threat to the entire world”.
Two Jordanians died and six were injured in New Year’s Eve in the terrorist attack at Istanbul’s Reina restaurant and club, when a terrorist opened fire on the crowd, killing at least 39 people and injuring dozens more.
