King’s visit to Oman to strengthen ‘historical ties’ — ambassador

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah's visit to Oman on Tuesday is expected to strengthen the "historical ties" between the two countries, Omani Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Hilal Bin Marhoon Al Maamari said on Monday.
Speaking to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Sheikh Hilal said that the visit will open up new avenues of economic cooperation, expecting the signing of several deals and agreements as well as the establishment of new companies and investment funds.
The ambassador also highlighted the contribution of Jordanian expatriates to Oman's development. Maamari also highlighted investment opportunities in health, mining and tourism in both countries, as well as cultural collaboration through the Omani Studies Unit at Al al-Bayt University and the joint cultural exchange programmes.
