Lawmakers discuss regional security challenges with EU peers

AMMAN — A parliamentary delegation, headed by Senator Adel Tweisi, on Thursday visited the European Parliament in Brussels and met with Christian Berger, director for North Africa, Middle East, Arabian Peninsula, Iran and Iraq in the European external action service.
The meeting discussed regional security challenges and their impact on Jordan.
The meeting also covered refugee conditions, humanitarian assistance, peace negotiations and the situation in Jerusalem.
Berger stressed the importance of political reform in Jordan, and praised the Kingdom’s achievements in this regard.
Tweisi commended the bilateral ties between Jordan and the EU, and its humanitarian assistance to the Kingdom.
