AMMAN — Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Thursday received Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh.
Khasawneh conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah’s greetings and wishes of progress and prosperity to Aoun and the Lebanese people, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and the Kingdom’s Ambassador in Beirut Walid Hadid, Khasawneh reiterated the Kingdom’s support for Lebanon’s people and government.
The Lebanese president, who asked Khasawneh to convey a written letter to His Majesty King Abdullah, valued the Kingdom’s stances in support of Lebanon.
In press remarks following the meeting, Khasawneh highlighted Amman’s unwavering support for Beirut, noting that a set of measures are underway to meet Lebanon’s urgent needs, Petra added.
“Jordan will spare no effort,” Khasawneh said, voicing the Kingdom’s “full” readiness to Lebanon to meet its needs.
