Lower House marks International Women’s Day

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat on Monday, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, honoured female MPs. During the ceremony, Oddat expressed pride in women’s achievements and contributions to the Kingdom’s establishment.
He also reiterated the Chamber’s keenness on creating conditions conductive to female MPs empowerment towards improving the performance of the legislative authority, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Deputy Abeer Al Jbour, head of the Chamber’s Women and Family Affairs Committee, highlighted women’s supervisory and legislative roles. Female MPs, during the meeting, voiced their appreciation of the gesture, highlighting the necessity of enhancing women’s role in various fields, notably at the economic and political levels.
