Lower House session discusses gov't replies to MPs' questions

AMMAN — The Lower House, during an oversight session held on Monday, discussed the government’s answers to questions raised by MPs. During the session, chaired by Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi and attended by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh and Cabinet members, the House discussed nine questions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
MP Zeinab Bdoul asked about listing Petra on the tourist trail, to which Tourism Minister Makram Qaisi replied that the request does not fall within the purview of the tasks of the Jordan Tourism Board, adding that Petra is no longer solely a domestic tourist destination, but receives visitors from around the world.
Lawmaker Bilal Momani, expressed discontent with the government's answer related to stagnant majors at universities. Higher Education Minister Azmi Mahafzah, in response, said that the Higher Education Council has not approved the introduction of any stagnant majors.
