Maaytah attends Tunisian president Essebsi’s funeral

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Musa Maaytah on Saturday attended the funeral of Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, who passed away on July 25.
Earlier in the day, President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (APU) and Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh offered his condolences to the Tunisian people over the passing of Essebsi.
In a letter to interim President of Tunisia Mohamed Ennaceur, Tarawneh paid tribute to the efforts of the late president in enhancing the progress of Tunisia and in defending Arab causes, mainly Palestine, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The Tunisian embassy in Amman, said it will be receiving visitors wishing to express condolences from Saturday until August 2.
