Man drowns in King Abdullah canal

AMMAN — A man died on Friday in a drowning accident in the King Abdullah Canal.
The Civil Defence Department said its divers managed to recover body of the 29-year-old from the canal in Northern Shuneh District.

A total of 144 individuals, mainly children and young people, died over the past 11 years as a result of drowning in the Northern Ghor District’s King Abdullah Canal and other dams and agricultural ponds, Governor Adnan Otoum said Sunday.
Five family members died on Saturday when their car overturned and fell into the King Abdullah Canal in Northern Shuneh, the Civil Defence Department (CDD) said.
