AMMAN — The Ministry of Agriculture on Monday decided to ban “sailor” vehicles, which ferry fruits and vegetables from Syria. As of Monday, cars loaded with produce are not allowed to enter Jordan because of pesticide concerns, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
In its decision, the ministry also cited efforts to protect farmers from unfair competition, and called on citizens and traders not to buy or sell these products, but rather report them to the ministry.
