Ministry to sue assailants of Ramtha teacher

AMMAN — The Education Ministry on Thursday stressed the importance of respecting teachers and safeguarding their rights, pointing out that the ministry does not accept any offensive behaviour or attacks against teachers.
The ministry’s statement followed an assault by some Ramtha residents on teachers at Al Miqdad Bin Al Aswad School on Thursday, injuring one of them.
Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Mohammad Thneibat directed the ministry’s legal affairs department to file a lawsuit against the assailants. He also entrusted Amin Shdeifat, director of Ramtha Education Department, to check on the teacher’s health.
