AMMAN — The Lower House Palestine Committee on Tuesday criticised a decision by the Awqaf Ministry that allows shooting scenes of a controversial film, produced by a US company, in the yards of Abu Nseir Mosque in Amman.
The film depicts a man on the run, through in Amman, Jerusalem, Ramallah and Tel Aviv. Committee Chairman Yahia Saud stated during a meeting with the Awqaf Ministry Secretary General Abdullah Abbadi that the ministry’s approval to shoot the film is provocative to Jordanians and is seen as further normalisation with Israel.
Saud said that the panel is planning to adopt a memorandum to withdraw confidence from Awqaf Minister Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal, though Abbadi said the film does not include anything harmful to the image of Islam.
