MPs recommend action on violations cited in 2016 Audit Bureau report

AMMAN — The Lower House’s Finance Committee on Sunday discussed violations cited in the 2016 Audit Bureau and recommended referring over 100 cases to the respective authorities.
According to head of the panel MP Khalid Bakkar, the committee recommended referring 70 cases to the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, 87 to the respective authorities to retrieve public funds within the next 60 days, 20 to the prosecutor general’s office for further legal processing and 30 other violations to the respective authorities on rectifying outcomes, the statement by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said.
Bakkar added that these recommendations were forwarded during the initial review session of the committee, pending the panel’s vote, once debate on the violations cited in the report is concluded. Recommendations will then be referred to the House of Representatives.
