NAF distributed JD106 million in financial assistance in 2018 — director general

AMMAN — The National Aid Fund (NAF) on Sunday said it had provided JD106 million in financial assistance to 30,000 families in 2018.
Acting director general of the NAF Omar Mashagbeh said that the NAF disbursed JD724,000 in regular assistance for 8,680 families, while 4,535 families benefited from temporary financial aid valued at JD370,000, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Sunday.
He added that 5,018 families also benefited from NAF emergency assistance valued at JD1 million, while the fund’s immediate assistance covered 5,381 families.
Mashagbeh said that JD12,000 was paid to families affected by natural disasters in 2018, in addition to JD200,000 that was distributed to 638 families for physical rehabilitation.
The director general said that the NAF has trained 771 individuals from beneficiary families under a memorandum of understanding between the NAF and Al Balqa Applied University, adding that 1,014 individuals are currently receiving training in vocational centres nationwide at a total cost of JD400,000.
In previous remarks, the fund said that money allocated for winter aid in 2018 reached JD2.51 million.
