AMMAN – The National Goodwill Campaign on Sunday celebrated philanthropic efforts that have extended over a quarter of a century, targeting the most vulnerable segments of the society.
Launched in 1991 by the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), the campaign has grown over the years to become synonymous with support for the poor and the marginalised.
At a ceremony to celebrate the initiative’s anniversary, HRH Princess Basma, president of the campaign’s higher committee, honoured supporters and partners, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
She stressed the campaign’s commitment to continuing its humanitarian efforts throughout Jordan.
The campaign carries out a number of programmes, including medical, educational and income-generating projects that aim at local development.
In addition, JOHUD’s centres spread across Jordan to incubate recruitment offices that network with industrial zones to offer youth job opportunities.
Sunday’s event was attended by ministers, MPs, diplomats and businesspeople, Petra said.
