AMMAN — The Royal Naval Force on Monday morning foiled an attempt to smuggle an unspecified quantity of narcotics through Jordanian territorial waters, according to an official source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF).
According to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the JAF spokesperson said that the boat was spotted attempting to infiltrate the Kingdom's territorial waters at dawn, and Naval Force rapid response boats promptly moved to the site, but the intruders had fled.
After a search and survey operation of the area, unspecified quantities of narcotic substances were found and transferred to the custody of the relevant security authorities, the JAF spokesperson said. The spokesperson stressed that the JAF vows to respond robustly to any attempt to breach the Kingdom's maritime borders or tamper with national security.
