NCSC announces Dot Cyber Security summit date

AMMAN — Under the patronage of HRH Crown Prince Hussein, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) during a press briefing on Wednesday announced the date of the Dot Cyber Security which is to be held towards the end of september.

The second cyber summit will take place on september 18 and 19 in Amman, with diverse focus areas including innovation issues, emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities, as well as, cyber security awareness and cyber developments.

The centre’s President Bassam Maharmeh during the briefing, said that “the summit is aimed at making Jordan a major regional hub for everything relating to cyber and technology issues”, adding that the summit is also focused on turning the Kingdom into an information society has what it takes to address the challenges of the knowledge economy.

The second national cyber summit is the Kingdom’s most innovative event which comes with a core focus on innovation issues, international efforts to counter emerging cyber threats, international and regional cyber cooperation, and the development of cyber policies and legislation.

The summit is a practical translation of Royal directives linked with the need to develop a national cyber security system to promote and protect public and private institutions and provide a business-friendly, safe, and attractive investment ecosystem, it is also a premier gathering of sector experts, information security executives, and specialists dedicated to exploring the innovations and opportunities and addressing the cyber challenges.

Dot Cyber Security will be mainly attended by academics, government figures, relevant NGO representatives, executives, and directors of local and international cyber security agencies.
