PETRA — The new Petra visitors centre will open in August, and the Petra Museum will be ready in September, Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Chief Commissioner Mohammad Nawafleh said on Saturday.
Nawafleh said PDTRA floated tenders to use electric cars instead of horses and carriages to transport tourists around the ancient city.
He said work is under way to open a heritage village in the region, where traditional products will be showcased.
