‘No tax on locally made equipment to reduce energy consumption’

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday endorsed the mandating reasons for the draft renewable energy law and submitted it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau.
Under the new amendments, all locally manufactured equipment used in the production of renewable energy or reducing energy consumption are subject to a 0 per cent sales tax.
The draft law also facilitates issuing licences for energy projects.
