AMMAN — In partnership with local entrepreneurship nonprofit TTi, Oxfam is launching a call for entrepreneurs to apply for grants under JOinUP!, a project that hopes to revitalise the country’s social enterprise sector with a specific focus on marginalised groups across the country, according to a statement from the charity.
Businesses that put social impact ahead of profit and that offer creative solutions to the country’s most pressing social challenges could be eligible to receive tens of thousands in funding to help kick start or grow their initiative, the statement said. JOinUP! is a 2.5 year project funded by the European Union.
It launched early last year and to date, Oxfam and TTi have been working together laying the foundations for long-term sustainability of businesses in the sector by building networks of country-wide Social Enterprise Support Organisations.
