AMMAN — Director-General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) Rafiq Khirfan on Sunday condemned the Israeli occupation’s violations, particularly incursions into and attacks on Palestinian cities and the acceleration of settlement expansion in the West Bank.

During the Cairo-held 110th session of the Conference of Supervisors of Palestinian Affairs in Arab Host Countries, Khirfan reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to the two-state solution, establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the 1967 borders. He also emphasised the government's support for the resilience of Jerusalemites against attempts to alter their city's identity.

Khrifan also noted the need to improve the living conditions of Palestinian refugees in Jordan through development projects.

He also stressed the government's continuous support for UNRWA, the main protector of Palestinian refugees, and praised the agency's strong political backing at a recent pledging conference, securing an additional $13 million in funding.
