AMMAN — A Royal Decree was issued on Wednesday summoning the Parliament to convene for an extraordinary session on September 2 to endorse several bills, according to a Royal Court statement.

Under the Constitution, lawmakers can only debate bills that are listed in the Royal Decree during extraordinary sessions.

The bills listed for the extraordinary session include the 2018 civil retirement draft law, which the Cabinet approved in early July, following pledges made by Prime Minister Omar Razzaz to reconsider the law, especially items related to ministers’ pensions.

Other bills on the extraordinary session’s agenda are the 2018 public administration draft law, 2018 municipal courts formation draft law, 2018 Audit Bureau draft law and 2018 bill of the fund of martyrs of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and security apparatuses.
