Parliamentary committee, Azerbaijan ambassador talk cooperation

AMMAN — President of the Jordan Parliamentary Friendship Committee with Asia and Oceania Countries Abdulrahim Maaya MP on Monday noted that Jordan is among the countries which suffered from terrorist attacks that have claimed several innocent lives and caused injuries.
During a meeting with the Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Jordan Eldar Salimov, Maaya said that the Kingdom has suffered from terrorism due to its “unaltered and fair positions” towards regional issues, mainly the Palestinian cause, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The lawmaker stressed the importance of achieving comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East, mainly regarding the Palestinian issue, stressing the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Salimov said that Azerbaijan seeks to enhance relations with Jordan in various fields, mainly at the economic level, in addition to enhancing commercial exchange, and student, cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries.
